Simameleni is the Xhosa expression "listen to us". The mission of Simameleni is to empower and protect children against child abuse.

This ministry reaches out to children in a number of ways from prevention programs to preparing a child for court. There are two new initiatives under the umbrella of Simameleni; a project that reaches out to orphaned and vulnerable children, and a "Man-to-Man" program that focuses on informing and training men against child abuse

VISION
Simameleni aspires to empower children to effectively protect themselves from child Abuse. In the absence of their parents/ adult supervision.

MISSION
To mobilize the community of Khayelitsha through training and caring to enable our children through awareness from child Abuse.

SERVICES
Prevention Programme
Public awareness at primary schools in Khayelitsha. Aim to enhance the children's and community knowledge of child Abuse through going to primary school and to call radios doing child abuse.

Orphanage Programme
Age: While child is still at school. We support them through home visit, prayer and food parcels as well as assisting them to apply and relevant grant.

Support Group for Orphans
We liaise with hope world wide for psycho-social support (play techniques future planning life skills education etc)

TRAINING DEVELOPMENT
We provide training twice a year to the community. The aim is to confront violence again women and children Abuse. This is done raising awareness in the form of workshops to teacher
